Back in 1994, I was working for an insurance company full time, making $41,000 a year. I was happy with my payment. ?But my wife was a bit worried because friends started to buy a condo or a townhouse but we didn't have the money.

One day, I got a call from a stranger, claiming that she was a "recruiter". She said that she found my resume a good match and wanted to place me for a job interview of IBM. The salary? $120,000.
