The Word Is Out

'The Word is Out' was the theme for the competition at this year's Book Festival and MyVoice Publishing, as part of our commitment to local authors, sponsored the publication of the winning stories and poems in this paperback book.
The competition sparked the imagination and let creative juices flow during the build up to the second successful Book Festival in Eastbourne this summer. The competition attracted entries by many talented local writers and indeed from further afield. Poetry and short stories were submitted and judged by creative writing teacher Jacq Molloy.
"There was plenty in the entries to enjoy as a reader and acknowledge as a judge. There was humour, suspense, poignancy, surprise and playfulness. Some writers played with language, others played with reader expectation to deliver a killer, and often unexpected ending." enthused Jacq Molloy on her difficult task, selecting the winners and the better runners up for inclusion in the book.
The result is a quality book of short stories, flash fiction and poems that will keep readers amused and entertained.
The wonderful cover is by local artist, teacher and illustrator Gillian Toft.
