Description

A long overdue revaluation of issues both political and moral, using accepted scientific theory and rational thought as a foundation.

It has been more than two hundred years since science and its practical derivatives first began to revolutionize our lives. During this unprecedented period of history, the accomplishment of our scientists in furthering our knowledge and understanding has been nothing short of spectacular. As science has ascended to become the undisputed pinnacle of human achievement, the academic and religious drivel that formally passed for wisdom has faded into obscurity. Yet, in spite of the broad general acceptance of science and scientific method and the high regard that it rightfully commands, we have yet to accept the full consequences of its teachings. Particularly in so far as genetics, inheritance and evolutionary theory are concerned. When it comes to the organization and the day-to-day operations of our society, these all-important principles are inexcusably ignored time and time again. However, to shun these irrefutable laws of nature in this modern day and age is an act of gross negligence, a crime for which both our academic and community leaders are equally culpable. To our predecessor’s credit, some serious consideration was given to how these newly discovered laws of nature might be applied to society, only for their work to have been unjustifiably discarded in the latter half of the twentieth century. In fact, during the post war period, we have in many respects descended into a Darwinian Dark Age, an age where anti-science and anti-rationalist pseudo-intellectual tyrants have come to dominate the academic and political agenda. An era where to even discuss an important societal issue from a Darwinian standpoint is strictly taboo. Those reactionary intellectually cripples responsible for the vilification of Galileo in the seventeenth century have their modern day equivalents. Sadly, it remains all too easy for great ideas to be suppressed, even in this modern age of unparalleled enlightenment.

In the following chapters, the universally accepted and scientifically proven principles of hereditary and natural selection are taken as irrefutable fact. From this unapologetically rationalist viewpoint, we will look at how these fundamental biological realities should be used as foundation stones for our societal structures; including our moral, religious, economic and political systems. We will see how our current systems of governance and morality all too often conflict with these fundamental laws of nature, and why human civilization is doomed to failure until such time as we accept the realities of life and take heed of nature’s will
