How to Import From China to Australia - A guide for Beginners

What I hope to achieve in writing this book is to tell you about my experiences of importing in a simple straight forward way. When I decided to import I had no idea of what to expect or even where to start and all I wanted was simple answers to simple questions. But I couldn’t seem to find the answers to my questions unless I signed up for a course which generally cost thousands of dollars. I'm sure there are people like me who have ideas constantly swirling in their minds but don't know where to start or even how to. I had to do a lot of research and take time to teach myself every step of the way how to import. Eventually I chose to act on my intuition and after many long hours, they’ve finally came to fruition. In this book I've written about what was necessary for me to do, how overcoming the fact I had very little money didn’t stop me and through necessity had to design my clothing range myself without being a qualified tailor or dressmaker. I'll explain to you how I found contacts in China, enlighten you on the customs of the Chinese people, clarify why I chose to fly to China to meet the contacts I’d made before manufacturing and hopefully eliminate some of the uncertainties of travelling to a foreign country. I'll describe how I found a customs broker and what paperwork to expect, the fees involved with importing and the time frame of shipments coming from China until delivery. For those of you who read my story, I would like to think you will be just a bit more aware of what to expect and how to go about it.
