Lab Work

As the lone lab technician working the graveyard shift at a hospital in suburban Pittsburgh, Primo Noble usually has his hands full with “stat” work. There are blood counts and differentials to read, units of blood to crossmatch, blood sugar tests to perform and even the occasional walk-in client in need of a sperm count.
When things slow down, he shares time and coffee with his best friend, Bart, who handles the X-ray department at night.
But things take a sudden turn when Bart begins acting strangely and asking questions that lead Primo to believe his pal is in trouble.
Solving the mystery of what Bart is hiding while at the same time dealing with an antagonistic lab manager, a stormy love affair and his father’s health problems may force Primo to prioritize his life as efficiently as he prioritizes his lab work.
