This novel tells about the fate of intellectuals in wars. One stream these stories describe the last moments of the life of the German philosopher Walter Benjamin, his mysterious death on the Spanish border at the beginning of World War II, while the second layer of psychological stories dedicated to the fate of the people in the civil war in former Yugoslavia (1991-1995).
