The American Scream: Special Edition

In this gripping satire, Jerry Lamb, husband and father of two, suffers the mounting pressures of work, society, and home life while in pursuit of the American Dream. During his first day off from his stressful software development project in weeks, he’s stuck in domestic hell with a scornful wife, unappreciative children, a gossiping parakeet, endless chores, and the pains of dealing with automated phone systems. When suspicious of his wife’s infidelity, Jerry begins to unravel and acts upon his emotions with tragic results.

Written in an intense yet personal voice, The American Scream will take you on journey that is both identifiable and horrifying, as it’s a portrait of the everyman and the everywoman and their struggles in today’s pressure-filled and fast-paced society. Scream won second place in the 2011 Royal Palm Literary Awards for unpublished short story.
