Description
When Nissan developed the 1990 to 1996 300ZX (Z32), they produced a vehicle well ahead of its time in terms of technology and aerodynamics. Nissan's supercar had but one flaw...the overly complex, break down prone and expensive engine. Recognizing this issue, we looked to improve upon Nissan's work by adding more reliable power in the form of a domestic GM V8 drivetrain, the LS-series engines. Our project was featured in Sport Z Magazine as the first of its kind and to this day, generates conversation on the merits of the project.
Considered by some to be sacrilege by mating a domestic engine with an import, many more recognize how well the LS engines look in the Z and especially how much power emanates from the motor.
Being the very first to accomplish this project resulted in plenty of trial and error and it certainly wasn't pretty, however, the end result was plentiful in function.
We hope that this manual will help guide others through the process of their own project. There are now many more finished 300ZX LS1/2 projects and many more sources of information on how to complete the project in addition to this manual. Use this manual as a starting point, as a shopping list, as a source of ideas. Enjoy your project and, most importantly, take your time!
