God's Names are as Ointments Poured Forth (God's Holy Names Book 4)

Oil, was the chief fuel for lamps. Since the ordinary lamp light was relatively small, a wise person provided themselves with an adequate supply of oil. Without oil they would not have the fuel to light their lamps in order to see during the night time. As one person may have their lamp, and the wicks, they must also have oil and fire or else there will be no light. We recognize that oil and fire are both represented in the seven burning Spirits (Holy Spirit) before the throne of Yahu’ah. Yahu’ah has empowered the Lamb of Elohim with seven horns and seven eyes which are the seven burning Spirits. We must partake in the baptism of the Holy Spirit and fire. Oil was considered to be one of the necessities of life during biblical times. It was considered to be a gift from Yahu’ah. Grain, oil, and wine are expressions of His goodness (Jeremiah 31:12; Joel 2:19). Israel sinned when they did not acknowledge Yahu’ah, not Baal, as giving them these things (Hosea 2:8 – 10). Corn, oil, and wine was taken away because of national disobedience (Deuteronomy 28:51; Joel 1:10; Haggi 1:11).

Oil is used in the Bible for anointing. Most familiar is the custom of anointing a king (1 Samuel 10:1; 16:1, 13; 2 Kings 9:3,6; 11:12), a priest (Lev. 8:30), or a prophet (Isaiah 61:1). Since this anointing oil was called the “oil of gladness,” it was a very joyous occasion. When the virgin bride of Christ is beginning to smell the beautiful fragrance of His oils of ointment as His names are being poured out, she know her beloved has drawn her with everlasting loving kindness. She has already asked Him for the kisses of His mouth. And now her sovereign King brings her into His chambers, into the inexhaustible revelations of Yahu’ah and Yah Shua! As she enters His chambers, she says “we will be gland and cheer with rejoicing and twirling in thee.” Her eyes are continually fixed on Him, and her lips are exalting Him in praise. She embraces and mentions his love is better than wine. She has set Him above all earthly goods, such as wine. The natural earthly attractions in which once she rejoiced in have disappeared, and now her only desire to enjoy his love and to draw closer to her Majestic King Sovereign abiding in His chambers! His love is more excellent than all the joy and gratification earth may offer.

Oil was used as a medical ointment for wounds (Isaiah 1:6; Luke 10:34). Oil is used for diseases (Jeremiah 8:22; Mark 6:13;
James 5:14). The oil applied to the cleansed leper may be a symbolic purpose as will as medical healing (Leviticus 14:15-18, 26-29). The lukewarm church of Laodicea is asked to buy eye salve (for which the city was famous) for spiritual sight. Revelation 3:18
