Deadlock

After a tragic act of violence rocks her family, Eva Powel’s mother moves the survivors from the city to the small town of Isle of Hope to bring them much needed peace and to facilitate healing. Little does she know that she is about to jump from the frying pan into the fire. At first, Eva’s new neighborhood seems promising. Her new school appears to be innovative and interesting, her teachers are caring and nice, her new friends fun to be around, and she even has found a cute boy who holds her interest, but when her scriptwriting class goes on a sleepover at the school, a night that is supposed to be one of simulated horror to prepare them to write horror scripts, everything comes crashing down around her, and she suddenly finds herself fighting for her life.
When it becomes clear that the first murder her class discovers is not simulated at all, but is, in fact, very much real, she finds herself face to face with the murderer. Her class scatters throughout the school to search for a way out, while the killer hunts them down. As communication between her classmates breaks down, she begins to believe that her friends are perishing one by one at the hands of the killer and escape seems futile. Only a sudden kinship with the loner, named Jack, and the blossoming romance borne in the fires of duress give her hope. The question becomes, can anyone stop the killer and will any of them survive the night?
