"I must go shopping. Can Monkey stay and watch you?" Mum asked Mr. Carpenter.

"Yes. That's fine," said Mr. Carpenter. "I am sure Monkey will be very good."
"Ja. Das ist in Ordnung", sagte Herr Tischler. "Ich bin sicher, dass Affe sich sehr gut benehmen wird."
Mum picked up her shopping bag and left.
Mr. Carpenter opened his tool bag.

"What is that for?" Monkey asked, pointing at a hammer.
"It's for hitting nails and other things," answered Mr. Carpenter.

"Can I hit flies with it?" Monkey asked, picking up the hammer.
