Cob Oven Construction in Text and Images

A comprehensive look in both text and images of the building of my cob oven. I include what we did wrong as well as what we did right and how we fixed some problems that cropped up (such as cracks). I've also included some designing notes - I am an experienced builder of wood-fired "brick" ovens having owned a company that built them. This was my first attempt at building with clay (cob). Although the oven dynamics are basically the same in both brick and clay, the building material is quite different and took some getting used to. In may ways, it's much easier to build with clay. Of course, the clay has a shorter shelf life than brick, but the cost difference negates that for most folks. This book will give you an overview of what I did with clay, why I did it and how it turned out. I have also included contact information.
