A Scorpion's Touch is the inspiring story of Avi Halevy of Ashdod, Israel. Avi is a successful entrepreneur with a thriving business, a good marriage and a wonderful family. Just as he feels he has reached his peak, disaster strikes. His teenage son contracts a horribly painful illness, which the medical establishment is powerless to cure, declaring he has no more than three weeks to live.
Avi goes against all the odds – and the medical establishment – to fight for his son's life. The ongoing, grueling and painful battle ultimately earns his child seven additional years of life, which he lives to the fullest.
At the backdrop is Avi's own poignant story of growing up. With deft insight, the author portrays both comic and tragic episodes from his childhood. His mother's early death and his father's spurning of emotion left Avi with a long, difficult quest to acquire the self-confidence and love the he lacked.
