In the future, anything is possible, but nothing is real.

Light travels trillions of miles in a year's time. So, anyone looking at us here on earth from deep in space is seeing way back into our history. 200 some years from now, camera ships launched from the Peragro Museum in the mega-city Great Falls, Montana are gathering images from 2,000 years in earth's past and turning them into interactive holograms called "Vapors."

Much further out in the universe, though, aliens are keeping an eye on us too. Some of these creatures see a race of beings who mean well and need their help, while others see earth as a rich and easily raided resource. The curartor of the museum and her favorite patron are about to embark on a journey through history to tackle these two extraterrestrial sides. Singing rather than speaking, the angelic aliens the humans have made peace with send them on an adventure that begins in the long-lost city of Los Angeles and eventually leads to the dry, waterless shell that thier home planet is slowly becoming.
