THE TRUE TEST

For most of Samantha Parks' life, the phrase 'freedom of choice' had been a foreigner. With a father who was bent on doing everything for the 'good' of his only daughter, it was his way or nothing else. And Samantha was cool with that, because she wanted so desperately to be daddy's girl. Things started to fall apart however, when Samantha's family relocated from Los Angeles to New York, and her father forbade her from dating Dave, the only boy she'd ever loved. Shortly after her arrival to New York, Samantha meets Fred, a ladies' man who gradually steals Samantha's heart. But when Dave visits New York several months later, he is re-united with Samantha and old flames are quickly rekindled. The two end up in bed and Samantha soon learns she is pregnant for Dave. To Samantha's disbelief, Dave walks out on her after learning of the pregnancy, but returns two weeks later to beg for her forgiveness. With her heart now split between Dave and Fred, Samantha discovers that the true test of love is not always the test of time, but the test of circumstance. It's not always how long love lasts, but how well it does in the face of circumstances. In the end, Samantha comes to terms with the fact that love will always be tested, and the truest form of love is that which stands not just the test of time, but the test of circumstance.
