Draconis: Insurrection begins a fantasy trilogy exploring the journey of Carthis Draconis and a stirring romance with his love, Julianna where he faces a menacing Empire planning to choke out the world's freedoms and struggles with an internal battle regarding responsibility to one's friends, personal desires, and how much of oneself remains after devoting himself to a cause greater than himself. It is a story of love and loss, magic and dragons, and good versus evil. The style reflects his literary influences: R.A. Salvatore, Terry Brooks, J.R.R. Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, Douglas Niles, and Stephen R. Donaldson. Work has already begun on the second novel of the series and should be completed within the year. The author, Jeremy Baker, has a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. He has held jobs as a cashier, dishwasher, USPS mailman, newspaper delivery boy, busboy, cafeteria server, salesman, factory worker, desk receptionist, courier, UPS loader and sorter, Wal-Mart truck unloader and overnight stocker, Sam's Club overnight "merchandiser", Sam's Club product demonstration associate, and a computer software developer. He draws upon these myriad walks of life to create fantasy novels and various written works. Jeremy also has an undiagnosed mental health issue and his experiences with this issue will be the fodder from which the second novel will be written. All proceeds from this novel will go to aid in funding treatment for the disorder. As of the writing of this book, the therapists are leaning towards a Bipolar diagnosis. Jeremy has a beautiful wife he went to high school with and two adorable children, the oldest 2 and a half and the youngest 10 months old. Please enjoy what we hope will be a colorful trilogy from an individual with a colorful and dynamic history.
