The Darkness of Knight

A veteran police officer murders the young man who killed his son in a traffic accident. Not realizing that he has committed the "perfect crime" and isn't suspected or wanted by authorities, he runs for Mexico in his sailboat being chased only by the family of the boy and the demons of his mind.

(Bill laughed to himself, and then became very somber. He leaned back and looked at the black of the night sky. A sky of stars stretching from horizon to horizon. And then he thought, a man, alone in a small boat in a dark sea knows his insignificance. He lowered his eyes ad stared at the teak cockpit sole. He was so alone. There was no one there to see the tears streaming down his cheeks.)
