Ivy waited for her surprise and Larry told her that he had two surprises. He gave Ivy the bracelet and a tear formed in her eye as she picked it up. The tear ran down her face when she recognized the date inscribed on the bracelet and laughed.
"You know I fell asleep on your shoulder on that date, but my first words to you were after midnight."
"Well, you had me the moment you sat down next to me," laughed Larry.
He put the bracelet on Ivy and she cried for a moment as she asked about the second surprise.
"This one is a bigger in some ways."
"Did you get an offer?"
"Yes, but not what you expected."
"Oh no, Larry. What happened?"
"Well, I did get an offer but not from the company I interned with last summer. In fact, nobody has heard from them and people are thinking that they may not be hiring this year."
"So where is the offer?"
"It is with a company on the other side of the country."
"Oh, that was the one you didn't think went well, correct?"
"Yeah, funny thing, I never expected an offer from them."
"That is how it goes sometimes. We never expected to meet each other on the bus."
"How is the pay?"
"Ten thousand better than what I would be making here and they would pay moving expenses."
"Even better."
"This is the part that worries me. If I accept the offer, how would you feel about moving out with me after graduation?"
