After an American city was taken over a by a rogue group of transhumans and gang-bangers wanting to start their own government in the name of social justice, she knew it wasn't going to end well. When the tales of what was happening in Bodego Bay began to reach her, she knew someone had to do something while the federal government “considered its optionsâ€. While investigating her options, she is approached by the Wrought, an unusual group of transhumans or nocturnals, or something entirely different, who were rumored to be the children of several goddesses from mythology. They were just what she needed.
Together with D'fen, a shan defender calling himself Defender, the newly-formed Murphy's Law team went in to do what the government chose not to do. In the quiet moments before, during, and after the battle, old memories of origins and “first-times†are sifted and examined as each hero contemplates what the Fates (or Norns) had wrought.
The battle turned out to be just the opening salvo of the Dragonwar that drags in the Lords of Atlantis. As the five heroes who rule the newly resurfaced Atlantean Empire investigate the disturbing news about the coming dragons, they too find themselves dredging up old memories.
