Description

I am a survivor of bullying throughout my elementary and middle school years. I was chased home by boys and girls who were, bigger and smaller, skinnier and fatter. As a person who read a lot, got good grades, and was treated special by teachers, I know what it feels like to be alone. As a former Atlanta police officer, I realize that I was an easy target for bullying as a boy, because I did not have the courage, self-confidence, or willingness to stand up for myself. Although, bullying is often viewed as physical force by one person over another, it is really a response by two people feeling a lack of power. Both parties are insecure or are lacking something inside themselves that create this terrorizing relationship. I’ll describe the concept of power, in more detail, in later chapters.

The turning point of my being bullied happened when my mother said I had to find my own ways of dealing with people who terrorized me. I was getting too big for my mother to fight my battles. It was tough love at its best. I don’t think she was giving up on me. But, she got tired of my refusal to defend myself—verbally and non-verbally.

You will discover your powers of persuasion, assertiveness, and self-confidence in the following chapters:

Chapter 1: Introduction
Chapter 2: What I Learned In Elementary School That Changed My Life
Chapter 3: People Can Make Or Break You
Chapter 4: I Want To See Me
Chapter 5: Gaining Power Over Your Life
Chapter 6: The Illusion Of Power
Chapter 7: What Is Charisma?
Chapter 8: Developing Charisma Through Confidence
Chapter 9: The Magnetic Communicator
Chapter 10: Conclusion

It has been said that, "You don't get out of life what you deserve, you get out of life what you command." It is my hope that this book provides a road map for the courage, power, and influence you are looking for to becoming your best self.
