Srimad-Bhagwad-Gita represents the best that can be found in the entire Vedic literature and other Hindu scriptures. As such, anybody aspiring to have an appraisal of the basics of India’s philosophical and cultural heritage is apt to read the Bhagwad-gita. The original Gita text being in Sanskrit, not many are able to go through it. Though the text has been translated in several languages along with exhaustive commentaries, a common reader finds them either too voluminous to be of any use to him, or too esoteric to be relevant to the modern man.

So the book, The Gospel of the Celestial Song has been written especially for those English-knowing people who want to read the Gita-text but are unable to do so for the constrains of Sanskrit language. All the 700 slokas of the Gita have been lucidly explained in a simple language in just 162 pages. At the end of each paragraph, the corresponding sloka number has been given to help the readers to refer back to the original text, if they want to do so. Besides, the book carries in rich abundance the practical message of the Gita, so relevant to the modern age.

About the Author
The author, Sri Dinesh Singh (6.1944) had his early grooming in the sunshine of rural surroundings, far from the madding crowds of the urban life, before he came over to Allahabad to join the university in 1961. He began his intellectual career as an Urdu poet which was cut short by the exigencies of Government service in which he continued till 1995.

Sri Singh is the Founding President of The Aatmic Science Foundation, a spiritual body registered in 2006 with the sole aim of spreading spiritual awareness among crass sections of people intelligentsia as well as the common man.

Since 2007 he has been editing the quarterly print magazine Science of Soul being published by the Foundation.
