Description
The city of Raamsar is located about 200 kilometers north of Tehran and at the southern shore of the Caspian Sea. Because of a high degree of rainfall, the weather in Raamsar is tropical and there are many orange gardens around the city. Raamsar sometimes is referred to as a European city of Iran because of the climate and of two luxury buildings ( a Grand Hotel in the mountain, and a Casino) that were built in about 1950's. After the revolution, the Casino was closed, but the Grand Hotel is still open. People in Raamsar are Gilak and Mazandaraani (-- two northern provinces of Iran). Because of a high degree of humidity in the summer, residents of Raamsar move to the summer resort village at the top of mountains, where they have to sleep at nights with a few blankets during the summer time. The village is Javaaherdeh which is famous in Iran.
The present work puts on view the living conditions in Raamsar and Javaaherdeh by a pictorial presentation of different aspects of life in Raamsar and Javaaherdeh.
