Costa Blanca is the name of the 200 km long coastline of eastern Spain on the Mediterranean Sea in Alicante province. The now-defunct airline BEA invented the name "Costa Blanca" to promote their holiday flights from London to Valencia in the late-1950's. The region is now a very popular holiday destination for British and other northern European tourists and the region includes the towns of Benidorm, Alicante, Dénia, La Zenia, and Xàbia.
