Description
This book is dedicated to my parents.
When I wrote these essays, I did so to verbalize what I felt instinctively
and to share that knowledge with our executive team at Access Health
Care Physicians, LLC. I researched journals and books on healthcare,
business and management and added our own insights and practical
know-how to the developing paradigms. As I got feedback from our
leadership and other physicians and friends, I was encouraged to
organize them in the present format.
I hope these ideas are of some use to physicians and healthcare
managers. I often wish that I had had someone to mentor me during my
medical residency in the business of medicine. What I have learned over
the years has been mostly from the School of Hard Knocks and the
Institute of Multiple Failures. I tried my best to study the mistakes made
by others or by me and draw lessons from them. I would like to think
that these essays will prevent other providers from committing the same
errors that I did.
