This is not the Sleeping Beauty that you remember from your youth, this is a more mature and imaginative interpretation in a modern setting. You will find that creative license has been taken with the characters and that the main characters are still represented in a unique and thought-provoking way, from the sleeping beauty, to the prince, to the villainous maleficent.

Harlow Mattise is living a picture perfect life. Her husband, Matthew, is handsome and successful, they have a happy marriage, and being the prodigy that she is on the piano, she has a dream career accompanying one of the most well-known music stars of her generation. Harlow cannot imagine being happier until one event changes her life forever.

Crue Landon has had his world violently shaken. Desperate, he drives to the woods outside of town to end it all, and with one last cry for help he asks for a miracle. Out in the middle of nowhere, with no one else around, Crue’s car is shaken and he sees just a hint of something in the darkness. When he gets out of his vehicle to investigate, he is shocked to his core to see a woman who has been savagely beaten. Crue knows she needs medical attention or she will die, so he rushes to get her to the nearest hospital.
With nothing on her person to identify her, the hospital staff are referring to the beaten woman, Harlow, as Jane Doe. Crue refuses to leave her side until her family arrives.

After returning from a business trip and finding Harlow unaccounted for, Matthew Mattise rushes to the police station to file a missing persons report where he learns of her current condition.

With Harlow in a coma, Crue not only becomes friends with Matthew, but he also finds it therapeutic to talk to Harlow in her comatose state. He tells her things that he hasn’t told anyone, and when she wakes, though she doesn’t remember everything he’s said, she remembers much of it. They are kindred spirits immediately and develop a friendship that neither of them can imagine living without. Crue helps Harlow through the difficulties of playing the piano again, and she gives him a reason to get up every morning and to continue with his life.

As months go by, what happened to Harlow remains a mystery to everyone, including the police, but slowly subtle things begin to reveal the truth, and with it, the very nature of the real miracle that was given to Crue on that dark and fateful night.
