Why I Wrote this book
The reason I wrote this book is that I wanted to share my experiences
with you. I have been obese, had high blood pressure, and was diabetic. I overcame all of these, and now I am a LifeStyle Coach, helping people to
live and become healthy. Did you know that only 5% of us eat and live
healthy and the rest do not? So chances are that you have an
unhealthy lifestyle. Are you overweight or even obese ? Do you suffer from
diabetes, high blood pressure, or have a high cholesterol level ? Do you
feel tired and miserable all the time? Do these problems make you depressed ? Then something is probably wrong with your lifestyle. Many people are aware of this and they may have tried all kinds of diets and have often failed. One of the reasons is that
diets do not work—they are too complicated or may be too expensive.
They are also temporary, so when you stop and go back to your
“normal” routine, you gain weight again or even more than you lost: the Yo-Yo effect. This book is not another diet, it is a method to change
permanently. The method is called “The Eat6X Method” and is so
easy that if you can count to 6, you can do this. I will not give you all kinds of recipes to prepare, but keep it very basic, because many people do not want to make difficult meals nowadays. I myself live by these rules and have achieved my goal, which was to become healthier, lose weight permanently, and have a better condition.

This book gives you a method called “The Eat6X Method” to become a
healthier person using a simple strategy. Many people have tried for
years to lose some weight, and most of them did not succeed, because
the diets are too strict and boring to follow. Or people first lose some weight, but
when they end the diet, they gain even more than they lost. To become
healthier, which is my main focus, you have to change your lifestyle and keep the new habits. So this book is not another diet book. Your current lifestyle resulted in what you are today, so to change that, you need to change your bad habits into good ones. You will learn how to stop the food cravings and eat regularly and healthy. Using a step-by-step and week-by-week method, we can slowly accomplish that.

Let me introduce myself. My name is DL Yuen and I am a Lifestyle Coach. I help people to be aware of what food really is, and how to live a healthy lifestyle.
Losing weight is only one aspect. I will be using simple English and will try to avoid too scientific or technical words or mentioning all kinds of university studies.
This book is not another diet book and we will not count calories or focus on weight. Instead, I will guide you, using the Eat6X Method, to change bad habits into healthy ones. Losing weight, and feeling better and alive, will be the results of that.
I myself have been obese for about 15 years, and year after year, I felt worse, and needed medication for my high blood pressure. I also suffered from muscle and joint pain, and my condition was so bad that I could not even walk for 5 minutes.
My weight was almost 220 lbs., 100 kilos, when I decided: enough was enough. In 2010, I started to change my eating habits and lifestyle, and in 6 months, I lost 33 lbs., 15 kilos.
I continued and improved this new lifestyle, and have stayed at that weight since then. I no longer need my high blood pressure medication, my joint pains are gone, and I never felt better.
Your health is the only thing that is important to have a happy and satisfied life. Not money, not stuff, but feeling good and healthy.
