Paranormals and the case of the Human Shield (The Paranormals Series Book 2)

Katie Fyne is charged with protecting human beings from evil spirits.

One day, during what is supposed to be a routine house call to evict a bothersome spirit, Katie is confronted with a spirit that proves too much for her to handle. During the confrontation a human dies and the spirit, who goes by the name John, gets away. As a result, Katie is stripped of her paranormal ability. This proves to be the worst possible timing, because the day her paranormal ability is taken from her she discovers that a vampire is on the hunt in her town of Sparks Wisconsin.

She reluctantly teams up with John who, surprising, has been tracking the vampire for some time. Working together they manage to corner the Vampire.
