The Spirits were liberated by a group of fortune hunting Babylonians who broke open the seal in their bid to retrieve a treasure which the brass vessel was supposed to contain.

With the exception of Belial, a mighty King, the Spirits and their minions promptly returned to their proper places within the Netherworld. Belial entered an image and, in return for sacrifices and idolised worship, gave oracles to the people and created a false monarchy of Dark Spirits.
