It was the decade of long lasting changes and great creativity; it was the decade of miniskirts, bell bottoms, the British Invasion, flower power, sit-ins, be-ins, blowing minds and some of the best music ever played.
This is the story of a teenage girl traveling through it all: From a small village deep in a Norwegian fjord to mingle with the in-crowd in London, after having been "rescued" by the R&B band, The Pretty Things; going to a Roman Polanski wrap party; back stage and to recording studios with The Rolling Stones, meeting The Beatles, love affairs and relationships with troubled gifted musicians like Phil May, Jeff Beck, Bob Weston and Keith Moon. And everlasting friendship with New York based musician Sal Maida. Living and working in New York, San Francisco, New-Mexico and Los Angeles, most of the time as a single mom. Poor, but still hanging with the rich and famous, spending an Easter Weekend at an old castle in Ireland as guest of Donovan and wife. The guest list also included George Harrison and Pattie Boyd.
Independent, curious, rebellious and amoral describe the author best. Or as long time friend Robert Altman, photographer of stars, put it: "Pleasing to the eye".
The book contains some wonderful photos, and several of the celebrity photos are rare and to the author's knowledge, never before published.
