MURKA - A heart touching story of a cat who traveled 7,000 miles from Moscow to New York and fed the whole family

Story of an Immigrant cat who traveled 7,000 miles from Moscow to New York. In 1991 many people immigrated from former USSR and we were only allowed to bring with us $600 and few personal items. What about animals? Unfortunately many animals got left behind or abandoned. I've decided to bring our cat Murka with us no matter what.

“Are you out of your mind?” Mom screamed out at me. “We don’t even know where we are going to sleep once we arrive in America and you’re concerned about bringing the cat with you? Absolutely not!”

It was a very difficult journey but I knew one thing, I wasn't going anywhere without my cat.
