Description
This book of poetry is based on real events of growth as I was in the process of questioning every part of who I am. It brought out beauty in my character, and I got to the essence of who I am as a writer, poet, and philosopher. After giving up on the idea of writing altogether, I found my voice once again—stronger than ever! It happened unexpectedly and at a moment in my life when my focus had changed completely.
I felt compelled to share these poems with an audience that might join my journey and would not only understand, but would relate to the same steps—and missteps—that we may take as writers, artists, and human beings. Life itself changes, and we change as time passes.
This book is an invitation to look at your core—and to find meaning in the ordinary moments that help us move on—as the poems evoke passion and bring an aesthetic into each emotion.
I am a world traveler. It was my dream to travel since childhood. My favorite books to read when I was growing up were on poetry—by poets such as T. S. Eliot, Lord Byron, William Wordsworth, and Christina Rossetti—and memoirs. There is a connection between my travels and poetry, as new experiences bring in novel thoughts, and these become a natural platform on which to write fresh themes.
I am a Mexican-American writer who grew up in California. It took me many years to get to this time in my life as a writer, but it has been a dream that I have carried out since I can remember. I love it when people come up to me and thank me for being their voice, and they tell me that, “You put things into the words I cannot say.â€
I would like to thank the people of the countries I visited for making me feel so welcomed and treating me like royalty when I was there, everywhere in Europe, Mexico, the Middle East and of course home, The U.S. This book was written with much love and care for your enjoyment.
