Description
Soon to be 21, Ciri hopes to survive her birthday. If her blood condition progresses as she expects, history will repeat itself, and this might very well be her last birthday. Already, her treatment frequency has increased and her violent episodes strike more often. If she doesn't find a cure before she turns twenty-one, who knows what sort of monster she'll become.
As if she weren't already struggling with enough, the state-sponsored orphanage where she's been living has been abruptly shutdown, forcing her and the other wards of the state to relocate. Ciri is now faced with an unavoidable return to a cold place owned by a harsh benefactor who once made her fear for her life.
The only thing Ciri had to look forward to is finishing college and taking control of her own life once and for all. At least, that was the plan until fate brought her face to face with a ghost from her past in the form of Joshua Duncan. As Ciri is about to undergo the third and final cycle of her blood condition, Joshua introduces her to the tantalizing possibility of overcoming her condition and living a life without the fear of her inner monster breaking free.
