Description

Lucy is cursed with the ability to see demons. For most of her life, there was only the all-consuming terror of seeing things no one else could.

But with the help of a generous grant, Lucy is finally able to open a shelter to feed and house the homeless—the same community of people who raised and protected her as a street orphan. The grant money proves she can be more than her cursed ability, and Lucy refuses to let fear ruin her life anymore.

When a fatal illness sweeps through Los Angeles, the only person who knows her secret comes back into her life. Joe used to be a skinny kid, but now he’s gruff, tatted, and burly. He’s also a member of a black-ops military operation named Fallen Angels. They watch over Earth, fight back the forces of evil, and for the first time in a long time, they’re losing to Satan.

The attraction between her and Joe soon ignites into unrestrained passion, and Lucy is pulled into an ancient war. She has to unravel the truth behind her cursed ability before she’s swallowed up by the flames of Hell, but little does she know that her desperate fight to save the man she loves will lead to a shocking discovery that will forever change the world.

Spanning forty years, the SEALS OF THE APOCALYPSE series is told from the perspectives of four women caught in the middle of an ancient war between good and evil.

Excerpt:
A bright light shot through the alleyway. Then came the sounds of a scuffle. Something large thudded against the wall. The demon screeched. In triumph? In pain? Lucy lifted herself to her feet, gripping the blade the way Joe had showed her, and then dashed out into the open.

The demon was lying dead on the ground. Black blood spurted out from a gaping wound on its chest. Joe stood with his back toward her, except it wasn’t the Joe she knew.

The bright light that had burst into the alley came from a pair of massive, feathered wings sprouting from his back. The translucent feathers glowed with an unearthly golden light. His shirt had been ripped to shreds. Claw marks across his skin oozed fresh blood. As the muscles along his back flexed, his wings stretched out until their tips touched the walls on either side of the alley.

She dropped the short sword. It clattered on the ground.

One moment she was standing. The next she was flat on her back with Joe on top of her and something sharp pressed against her throat. Joe’s eyes glowed red as he stared at her without recognition.

“Joe,” she gasped.

He jerked back, his eyes flickering back to their normal color. He lifted his hand from her neck, claws retracting back into fingernails. The glow around him faded as his wings folded and absorbed into his skin. She scooted backward, warily watching as he bent to pick up his sword and tucked it into a sheath by his side. Spread across the wide expanse of his back was a tattoo of two large wings.

She felt stupid for asking, but she had to. “Are you a real angel?”
