Many of the descriptions draw fascinating pictures of plant involvement in our lives. A place name used in the past is put into today’s context, a human being attracts a potted biography (which when especially famous, will focus on lesser known interesting facts). A genus entry will often include information overarching its species as a whole. These names may describe alternative explanations for their derivation.
