If I Were The Finance Minister of India on 10-7-2014...
Description
the new government rode to power with nearly unprecedented public support following huge expectations of economic recovery. The first budget presented by this government on 10/7/2014 was therefore, expected to propose a blue print of major policy changes to kick start the economy, just like what was done in 1991. But the hopes were shattered. The budget proved to be just like any other ordinary budget in last full decade or more. The finance minister did not appear to have much idea of what is wrong with the economy and what is required to be done about it.
In this budget, the author proposes policies that the new government should have adopted to kick start the economy, and give the people a chance to catch up with rest of the world in this very generation. Else, the gap between India and rest of the world is ever rising, and generations seem condemned to suffer.
