By unravelling ancient codes and riddles the children journey within the bowels of Edinburgh Castle as they attempt to find the key to their friends' disappearance. But, it's a race against time as the very existence of mankind is held in the balance.
With mankind facing the greatest danger it has ever known, a small band of humans desperately seek help from the most unexpected place - an ancient bond between two worlds that had long been buried. As the children's search for their friend continues, danger lurks in the most innocent of places.
The bacteria has evolved into the deadliest of threats. The human race has lost its dominance and survival in the new world appears hopeless. But not all are happy to give in. If they can stop fighting amongst themselves some of the survivors may be able to stand up to the alien threat and rebuild the human race.
Humans are being hunted. Forced into hiding they learn to adapt and survive as best they can. But others are planning more. Striped of technology they are forced to seek a more natural solution. One borne from the natural resources the Earth can offer, healing the rift between the human race and the planet.
