Description

In my paper, I will try to approach the problem of the Archetype of the Shadow, which in the Jungian terminology refers to the unconscious as a whole, and to relate it with the problem of the Evil.
The true causes of the Evil, they are not out of the individual but are rooted inside his own heart.
In this regard, Jung says:
'Man in his modern variety, may well believe to be able to transform or be transformed by external influences, without any limit. The amazing fact or rather terrifying is that, in spite of civilization and Christian education he is still strapped by the ties of subjection close to the animal state, and then he can at any time become the prey of the beast. There is in this, without any doubt, a more universal truth than ever; and that remains, regardless of culture, education, language, tradition, race and place'. (C. G. Jung: Mysterium Conjunctionis, 1982: p.25)
