Conic Sections in two parts Part I and Part II written for + 2 level students of CBSE, ICSE , various state boards in India and equivalent curriculum abroad. Besides this is clear funda for IITJEE and other engineering entrance examinations. Part one deals in various conic sections such as circle, ellipse, parabola, hyperbola, two straight lines . Apart from standard derivations of the curves, numerous alternative derivations are given to arouse interest, such as one by compression of coordinates , a ladder sliding down against a wall etc. Various meanings of eccentricity are explored which add to deeper understanding of the plane curves. With the help of simple high school geometry the conic sections are shown to be plane sections of cone and celestial orbits of the planets and satellites, in order to arouse inquisitiveness in the student. Part one deals in Analytical geometry aspects including Calculus aspects of tangents and normals. Part two deals in more calculus aspects like asymptotes, pole and polar, diameter and curvature, envelope, involutes and evolutes, intersection of conics etc. A full book on asymptotes has bee already published separately.
