The year was 1992 and I was coming out of a failed marriage,due in part to financial problems.Constantly fighting and bickering over how to spend our money.
We were making good money but we had no budget system in place.It was a virtual nightmare.My father used to say "we were like babes in the woods" and he was so right.
Bill collectors at our door,threatening letters and phone calls..what a nightmare.
So now I was out on my own,a single Dad and determined to find a solution,to find the best possible budget system.
Now I heard about the famous envelope budget system which was created during the depression in the 1930's and made popular again by Dave Ramsey,and a good friend of mine was doing it.
Well I gave it a try but it just wasn't right for me.
I mean, I loved the concept but I just didn't like the idea if having all that cash lying around,so over the next few months I developed a tracking system of portions,instead of envelopes filled cash.Thus the portioned budget system was born.
So I went from the Envelope Budget System to the Portioned Budget System.
Now I am just a regular guy,no rocket scientist or mathematical genius by any stretch of the imagination,but I must say that I really amazed myself.
What I love about CU$HIONMONEY is it is so simple it's almost embarrassing.
It is based on 3 things:
Your Pay Date
Your Due Date for each expense
The Calendar.

To me it's like a game,and like any game there is always an object to winning.
