I love dystopian fantasies, and this book, “The Warriorz of Waquir Bay†is one of the better ones that I've read in this genre this year. It has been written with great passion, with non-stop thrilling action, and a constant feeling of dread and suspense – which is how a dystopian fantasy should be.
The story is set in the year 3022, narrated by a brave young 18-year old woman Etheria Willows, describing the end of the human race as we know it. Etheria is among the last of the survivors of the Waquiradama, a super race of humans, who are providing a last gasp resistance against some really nasty aliens of the “Seventh Dimensionâ€.

Somewhere between science fiction and fantasy lies The Warriorz of Waquir Bay, a post-apocalyptic story of epic proportions. I loved Thompson's style of storytelling - the first person narrative was the kind of thing you imagine hearing around the campfire. And while big concepts and new worlds like the ones here can lead a story to be too lofty and lack relatability, this book is surprisingly human and visceral feeling.
The concepts were easy to understand but also entertaining. Magic, mystery and a compelling new world make up this story that also has a little commentary about our own world.--- Sam G
