Description
I dedicate this book to all the working women in all industries and jobs! No job is too small or too big for a woman to do and do it well!
As a fast food supervisor and later as a franchisee in the early 1980’s I became a big fan of women in the work place. With multiple fast food units, I quickly learned how my women managers seemed to be the most successful. I found that one of the main reasons for their success was that they “took ownership†of their restaurant. They weren’t just the manager…they operated that business as if it was their very own.
My women manager had less employee turnover because they did a better job of understanding employees’ issues and certainly had more patience in that area than my men managers. Their decisions, most of the times were well thought out. Their restaurant was better organized, cleaner and neater and more profitable.
So you may wonder… didn’t you have good men managers also? Of course, especially the ones that had great women assistant managers…ïŠ!
So here are some observations I have made about the working woman:
• Most are very good listeners and most are very thoughtful speakers
• Women are very dependable and very timely (to work, meetings, appointments).
• They write things down (lists), which makes them great planners
• They follow directions, instructions and use “tried and proven methods†of working
• They are quite good at performing assignments “right the first timeâ€â€¦(they ask for opinions, suggestions and they think things through before they act)
• They are good at discussing a problem (sometimes in great detail) and quite happy at coming to a majority consensus solution that is a success for all.
• They are independent. I am always amazed that when a group of women go to lunch together, each pays her own lunch (Is there some unwritten rule on that)
• They are not afraid to say, “I don’t know or I don’t understand†please explain it.
• Women are great networkers. They seem to always “know someone that knowsâ€â€¦.whatever it is you need to know!
• Women overcome any lack of knowledge by welcoming every opportunity to learn more. At my speeches / seminars, if the group is 50 (25 women and 25 men)…15 women will buy my books to men’s 3 or 4 purchases.
• Women stay at their jobs longer than men and why shouldn’t they? After all, remember… they work at their jobs like they own the place, right? So watch out men, there may be a new person in charge…a woman!
• And no, I didn’t forget ….women are great multitaskers (home, kids school/activities, nurse, work, laundry, car pool driver, household budget and bill payee/wife or girlfriend/household shopper etc., etc., etc., etc.
• Women are blessings to the medical profession…they go to the doctor on a regular basis, take the kids for treatment, shots and are responsible for “pushing, prompting and harassing their husbands to go see the doctor.
• And last of all women are courageous! I have heard it said many times, “If men were the ones that had babies there would only be… one child per family ïŠ
Why is this book important to the Working Woman?
Every woman candidate that has ever been “downsized†or lost her job may feel guilty, helpless, depressed, angry or simply lost. She may also lack a professional roadmap to take complete control her career’s path. She may also be one of those unfortunate souls that are employed but trapped in a job they dislike and are in need of a plan to change to a more positive and rewarding place of work.
My commitment to you, through this book, is to help end your frustrations. I will help you create a (one of a kind) custom Personalized Marketing Portfolio and unique marketing plan to help you obtain not just a job, but the “right job†for you!
I make you this promise:
“If you read and follow the new methods this book says, you will greatly improve your chances of finding the job you want quicker…I promise.â€
