MSA NMAT Reviewer

Com­mis­sioned by the Board of Med­ical Ed­u­ca­tion (BME) and au­tho­rized by the De­part­ment of Ed­u­ca­tion, Cul­ture, and Sports (DECS), the Cen­ter for Ed­u­ca­tional Mea­sure­ment (CEM) has been ad­min­is­ter­ing the Na­tional Med­ical Ad­mis­sion Test (NMAT) for some time now. The NMAT is re­quired of all ap­pli­cants to Philip­pine med­ical schools. Al­though there is no cut-off score, each school may have its own cut-off on the NMAT, and ex­celling on it can help gain bet­ter chances of get­ting into one's choice of med­ical school.
MSA, com­mit­ted to aca­d­e­mic ad­vance­ment, thus re­leases its first re­viewer for those who wish to excel in the NMAT.
This MSA NMAT Re­viewer con­tains ques­tions on var­i­ous sub­jects. Just like the NMAT, this re­viewer is di­vided into two parts with four 50-ques­tion tests each. All tests are aimed to mea­sure the abil­ity and com­pe­tence to be­come a fu­ture doc­tor.
Part I deals with non-sci­ence areas. Test A (Ver­bal) deals with Eng­lish pro­fi­ciency. Test B (In­duc­tive Rea­son­ing) aims to sharpen one's ab­stract rea­son­ing skills. Test C (Quan­ti­ta­tive) fo­cuses on math­e­mat­i­cal abil­ity. Test D (Per­cep­tual Acu­ity) is de­signed to check vi­sual sharp­ness, an im­por­tant char­ac­ter­is­tic of any doc­tor.
Part II deals with the sci­ences. Test A fo­cuses on Bi­ol­ogy, Test B on Physics, Test C on So­cial Sci­ence (Psy­chol­ogy and So­ci­ol­ogy), and Test D on Chem­istry. The ques­tions are de­signed not only to test mem­ory but also to as­sess the abil­ity to syn­the­size and in­ter­pret in­for­ma­tion, im­por­tant traits for any as­pir­ing doc­tor.
Dili­gence is al­ways key to at­tain­ing a high score on the NMAT and get­ting into one's med­ical school of choice. Still, good re­view ma­te­ri­als will be of great help.
