Determined to pull herself together, but running out of steam, Tracey didn t know what to do. If she let him reach for her with that understanding look in his eyes, she knew she would break down. She had promised herself that after Johnathan s funeral she would never let that happen again, especially in front of Hogan.

So, when he reached for her, she did the only thing she could think to do. She went into his arms and kissed him. He was surprised and, in response, put his hands on her shoulders and pulled back to look at her. Tracey, what are you doing? he asked.

Instead of answering, she pressed her lips to his again and weaved her hands through his blonde hair. She went up on her toes to reach him better, trying to pull him into one of those deep kisses one of their deep kisses that kept him from being able to say no.

He could never pull away from her when she kissed him like that, and it worked. After a moment s hesitation, he took her up into his arms and pressed against her. When he broke the kiss and she saw the fire in his eyes, she knew she had won.
