Description

This student workbook is for bright four-year-old children just learning to read as well as adults who have not learned to read. It is also for students who are said to have dyslexia. The workbook contains best practice teaching methods and techniques, which are built into the lessons and exercises. With the scientific measures built into the learning activities, it is not necessary to teach the students the science behind the lessons. All they have to do is study the lessons and do the exercises.

Teachers and students will be using the science without thinking about it. The students will be studying and benefiting from the latest research directly by reading out loud, doing the exercises, and taking the tests. All these activities make up programmed learning.

Programmed learning is built into short stories, nursery rhymes, famous quotes, say-spell-say profiles, and a special sequencing course.

Sequencing lessons include the drills necessary to improve short-term memory well enough to learn alphabetics and phonetics. After a while, the students will overcome their reading problems by decoding and pre-reading words subconsciously before reading them out loud. Since it is not necessary for assistant teachers and tutors to learn the science behind the lessons, they can spend more time teaching and testing the students. The students will learn to decode and read complex words using programmed learning techniques and sequencing lessons.

Note: This workbook is not just for people who have learning disabilities. It is also for people who can learn on their own called skilled readers. Students who can become skilled readers without special training will find that this is a self-teaching reading course. After they learn the alphabet and phonetic alphabet, all they have to do is look at the words and the words will speak to them.
