Description
A medium security federal correctional institution with an adjacent minimum security satellite camp and a detention center.
You are now in the custody and care of Federal Bureau of Prisons staff of the Federal Correctional Institution, Otisville, New York. This booklet is designed to give you some basic information about how we operate and what resources are available to meet your basic needs. It will also tell you what we expect of you. This is a community and although you did not choose to be here, you are expected to respect the rights of others, both fellow inmates and staff. You are expected to obey the rules and conduct yourself in a responsible fashion. Staff are expected to be respectful toward you. We understand that this is a time of special stress for you and the most helpful thing that we can do is to facilitate your participation in the criminal justice system process. This is our mission. Our ability to fulfill that mission for you depends on your cooperation and behavior. You are presently in Admission and Orientation (A&O) status. You will remain in this status until you have completed the A&O Program. During the A&O process most of the general information contained in this booklet will be explained to you in detail by staff. These sessions are presented for your benefit and information.
