Description
SOLBIDYUM WARS SAGA - BOOK 3 - PIRATES OF GOO'WADDLE CANALS

A year has passed since the events at Alle Bamma, where Tibby encountered the Brotherhood during his search for the ruguain eggs needed to save Kala from an injury inflicted by a conspirator wielding a poisoned knife.  Since then, the conflict seems to have subsided, but Tibby knows the Brotherhood threat is far from being eliminated.  In order to be prepared for the next strike, Tibby commissions the fabrication of a new craft called the Mirage Fighter, many of which he loans to the Federation space fleet to bolster their wartime resources.

While Tibby and Kala are enjoying life together at their estate on Megelleon, they receive word that one of the Mirage Fighters has been taken in a raid by Brotherhood rebels.  The Admiralty asks for Tibby's assistance in reclaiming the ship, as it has apparently been taken to a non-aligned planet outside of Federation territories to be reverse engineered.  Because the ship is no longer within the jurisdiction of Federation forces and because Tibby is technically the owner, the Federation military cannot lead the recovery effort, lest it be deemed an act of war against the planet.  Tibby, on the other hand, is a civilian and is hence permitted to use whatever means necessary recover his property or destroy it, if required, before its technology is revealed to the enemy.

Tibby's mission to retrieve the stolen Mirage Fighter is barely underway, when he is informed that a solbidyum shipment has been intercepted by an unknown thief.  It, too, has been removed from of Federation territories, but its exact location is unknown.  Hence, Tibby and his crew must continue their journey outside Federation boundaries and organize a clandestine mission to find the solbidyum, which could be used by the Brotherhood to construct weapons of mass destruction.

During the mission, Kerabac must take on the role of a Ruwallie Rasson trader, while Tibby and several of his crew disguise themselves as slaves.  With their identities concealed they are able to assimilate with the culture of privateers as they travel to alien worlds in their search for the solbidyum.  Before long, their pursuit of the thief is hampered by the Brotherhood, who also seeks the individual who has taken the solbidyum.

Matters get worse when Ruwallie Rasson pirates trading in the space around the planet Goo'Waddle, consider Kerabac to be operating in violation of their guild rules.  The Ruwallie Rasson try to commandeer Kerabac's ship, slaves and cargo as a penalty for conducting business without the cartel's sanction.

Rumors are also heard of a new enemy force that has aligned itself with the Brotherhood forces.  The rumors imply that this ally possesses a powerful weapon said to be capable of penetrating the protective shields of the Federation ships
