Mum Never Did Learn to Knock is a short story with a twist about the relationship between a mother and a daughter. Emily has experienced a period of change and is adjusting to a new chapter in her life, one that she likes to talk over with her mother. Unfortunately, her father and counsellor think differently and are concerned about her state of mind. They believe that she needs to move on, something which Emily is finding difficult – until she meets a boy at school who understands where she’s coming from and is there to help her adjust to the changes.
