"Hail the permutations, paving the way today for a brighter road tomorrow!"
After waking up in the morgue of an abandoned sanitarium, Rey has only a toe tag to her name and no recollection as to how she got there.
With a country staggered by a global war called the Long Winter, she finds herself in a city under martial law and a government now split into two authorities known as the Western Order and Eastside Republic. In the west divided with only pockets of civilization, insubordinate personalities are considered dangerous and rewritten by a regimen described as the permutation. Behind this regimen, the Western Order is quick to stifle any noise that may seek sedition.
Though her memories are fractured, Rey is forced to choose a side when she is caught in the middle of a conflict between the governments and a galvanizing organization calling themselves the Vorpals, led by the troubled David Wednesday and his friend, Enid Lyall.
Before long, Rey is labeled an enemy of the state and a terrorist herself, and must survive if she has any hope to discover her stolen identity from the government's own chancellor.
They say that time heals, and the truth will set you free. But as Rey unearths who she is and why she awakened in that morgue, she will learn that she is connected to both sides of this blood-spattered coin, and her role in it all will beg to question if the truth is a skeleton she wants digging out of the closet.
