The answer is that the ongoing deforestation of our mom results in the emission of about 1.5 billion metric tons of CO2 per year.
Who, specifically, is promoting this defilement of our mom?

Although we do not ourselves read it, for those among us who are readers of the Bible, there may be a temptation to believe that the individual appears to represent the biblical character, Satan.
According to the Bible, we've been told, Satan's goal is to tempt humans to reject God in favor of the worldly temptations he offers. To accomplish that goal, the story continues, Satan has placed various emissaries among us to provide the temptations.
Who might those emissaries be?
We shall argue in this book that, if Satan truly does exist, then his obvious emissaries are the one and the same humans who had the breathtaking audacity to claim not long ago that, by lending us money, they are "doing God's work."
In short, Satan's emissaries are Wall Street bankers and Wall Street CEOs -- those CEOs whose shares are bought and sold on Wall Street exchanges.
Wall Street bankers and CEOs could not, of course, destroy God's creation, Mother Earth, without the assistance of certain, shall we say, facilitators.
Who are those facilitators?
Those facilitators, as we've already discussed in detail in this series of little books, are various congresspersons and presidents in Washington who have sat by silently -- in exchange for receiving cash for their re-election campaigns -- while Satan's emissaries have been in the process of destroying the tiny 20 miles of living space that all the known living matter in the universe resides.
How shall we refer to the members of this Wall Street-Washington Axis of Power who clearly are so obsessed with money that they will readily do whatever is necessary to obtain it, including killing our mom -- committing matricide?
Let us henceforth refer to those emissaries as Satan's servants.
What actions might we ordinary humans perform to prevent this matricide?Â
Apart from refusing to re-elect in 2016 any of Satan's Washington emissaries who have participated as his servants by supporting:
- the outsourcing of American jobs to China, thereby causing billions of tons of GHGs to be emitted by the Chinese and
- the insourcing of American jobs to impoverished immigrants, thereby causing the population of the US to soar and to as a result emit an extra 1.25 billions tons of GHGs per year
- what else must we ordinary Americans do to save our mom, who has already been severely wounded by Satan and his servants?
It's in Vol. 20 that we will discuss in some detail the "elephant in the room" that none of the experts on climate change is presently willing to discuss and that many, many Americans are going to have an exceedingly difficult time accepting if we are going to save our planet, and thereby ourselves, from a combination of matricide and suicide.
