The Magic Wishbone

In this story, magic happens and dreams come true. A little girl makes a wish for the first time ever on Thanksgiving Day, with her mother using a magic wishbone. She refuses to say what she wished for and insists that the magic needs time to happen, although she doesn’t understand exactly how magic works.
Two days later, new neighbors arrive at the ranchette next door and they own a pony with the marking of a wishbone on its forehead. The little girl, Hazel, is spellbound by the fact the pony’s name is Wishbone. She knows this pony is meant for her, this is exactly what she wished for.
Another girl is jealous that Hazel may get the pony Hazel wished for and sets out to foil her dream, so it does not come true.
Hazel and her friends also find three orphaned raccoons and raise them on a bottle and have to figure out a way to reintegrate them into the wild.
This is a story of strong friendships and compassion for humans and animals alike.
